BBM for Andorid & iOS is finally available on respective App stores. The app has got millions of downloads within 24 hours of the launch. Many are still waiting for the Activation emails. BBM Video, Voice and Channels have not yet made into the store. Last time, when there was a plan to roll out BBM on these platforms, BlackBerry had to run into a huge fiasco. They had not expected such a huge demand & the infrastructre has to be upgraded before going out for the release.
This shows that apps can provide great visibility for brands. BBM rose very quickly in the Apple App Store free app rankings in the first 24 hours with #1 slot in more than 75 countries, including the US, Canada, the UK, Indonesia and most of the Middle East.
